Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas, a member of Club de Producto (Product Club) of Wine Routes of Spain, has just been included in the Tourism Roundtable of the province of Pontevedra as a fixed member. The new member was presented this morning by the president and owner of the provincial institution, Carmela Silva, in an event where representatives from all types of organisations related to the industry were present.
Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas values “with great positivity the inclusion as a fixed member in this new institution. We are confident that this joint effort will promote greater visibility of the wine and gastronomical values of the province of Pontevedra in general, and of our wine route in particular”.
The creation of the Tourism Roundtable of the province of Pontevedra is focused on placing value in a strategic industry, whose pillars are found in wine tourism and gastronomical tourism. This is why Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas was incorporated into the group of members, which also includes:
- Provincial Council of Pontevedra (with 4 representatives)
- Axencia Galega de Turismo
- Municipalities of over 50,000 inhabitants – Pontevedra and Vigo
- Vigo airport
- Master in Tourism of Universidad de Vigo
- CIFP Manuel Antonio
- CIFP Carlos Oroza
- Clúster de Turismo de Galicia
- Federación Provincial de Hostelería de Pontevedra
- Ruta del Vino Rías Baixas
The members of the Tourism Roundtable of the province of Pontevedra are completed with rotating members. These include the municipalities of Touristic Interest (A Guarda, Baiona, Cambados, Cangas, Mondariz Balneario, Nigrán, O Grove, Poio, Sanxenxo, Tui and Vilagarcía de Arousa); SICTED destinations (Baiona, Pontevedra-Norte and Sanxenxo), Grupos de Acción Local Participativa del Sector Pesquero – (Groups of Local Participative Action of the Fishing Industry: GALP Ría de Arousa, GALP Ría de Pontevedra and GALP Ría de Vigo-A Guarda) and supra-municipal entities with goals/activities related to tourism (GDR Baixo Miño, ADR Condado-Paradanta, Mancomunidade O Salnés, GDR Pontevedra-Morrazo, ADR Pontevedra Norte y GDR Salnés-Ulla-Umia). In this first phase there will be representatives from A Guarda and Baiona, another from North Pontevedra, another from GALP Ría de Arousa and another representative for GDR Baixo Miño.
