RÍAS BAIXAS D.O.

Lands of an Atlantic character with lush green vegetation and mild temperatures, which have known how to garner the best of Galicia thanks to the benevolent breeze of the Atlantic Ocean and the ancestral efforts of its people.

The Rías Baixas Wine Denomination of Origin (D.O) is spread over 5 perfectly defined regions, extending from the Portuguese border to the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela, with a sprinkling of vineyards over 3,600 hectares of Southwestern Galicia. The regions of Val do Salnés, O Rosal, Condado de Tea and Soutomaior are found in the province of Pontevedra. Meanwhile, the area of Ribeira do Ulla extends across the South of the province of A Coruña, and the North of Pontevedra.

All regions share a deep tradition in winegrowing, making them known for the quality of their wines, and a part of the Rías Baixas Wine Denomination of Origin. They are lands of an Atlantic character with lush green vegetation and mild temperatures, which have known how to garner the best of Galicia thanks to the benevolent breeze of the Atlantic Ocean and the ancestral efforts of its people. On the other hand, the growing of good wine has also favoured an excellent local cuisine, and we’re not just referring to the world-famous seafood of the area, but also the vegetables, fruit, meats, cheeses and other local products that will surprise your palate.

Something different

At the same time, each of them offer singularly different landscapes, traditions and culture that give each region its own personality. And this is precisely why Ruta do Viño Rías Baixas offers different itineraries, so that you can appreciate and find delight in each of their nuances.
