Casa Mariñeira Lourdes

The current country holiday house has been rebuilt upon an old tillage house, which used to be a storage area for seafaring supplies, given the profession of its owners. It later became a country holiday home in the year 2000, and became a part of the network of country holiday homes in Galicia. Located on a cobblestone street, just 50 metres from the Ethnogrphic Museum of Wine, the Santa Mariña ruins and the Pastora lookout, from which one can see the noble town of Cambados. The Casa Mariñeira Lourdes complex is made up of two buildings which are joined by a patio that, during the summer, becomes the terrace of the café and a place to enjoy the mild and pleasant evenings that the microclimate of the Salnés region offers its visitors. There is also a view of the Ría de Arousa, along with the rafts site, lighthouses and signs, turning it into a small piece of paradise. The house also has a vine orchard, a great place for short walks, or a place to relax for weary travellers. The inside has a cozy, shared living room with views of the mountains and the sea. Each room has its own name, and on the nightstand of each of these rooms is a bottle with parchment that explains the story behind each of these names. One important feature of the house is the homemade food and breakfasts, with baked goods made on site: croissants, crepes, doughnuts in brandy, almond tart, etc. The owners of the house have known how to combine simplicity with professionalism and, above all, devotion, so that the visitor feels like a member of the family and can participate in the various acitivities available, should he or she wish: boat rides to watch the fishermen work whilst admiring the setting of the Ría de Arousa, watching fish auctions, chats with the fishermen, picking fruit from the orchard, walks through the town, or water skiing for the more adventuruous. The surrounding areas offer multiple activities, both on land and water. But one of the first things to do upon arriving is take a peaceful walk through Cambados, a town located in the heart of Rías Baixas.
